This is quite an interesting article from Personneltoday.com examining the meaning of web 2.0 and what is current theories on what web 3.0 is likely to be.

This article refers to:

  • web 2.0 as having the defining features of to facilitate collaboration, interaction and sharing via blogs, forums, wikiks, and social networking sites;
  • how everyone can share their learning and knowledge through participation
  • short learning objects in various formats accessible when the learners need them is likely to be a feature of web 3.0 too as well as a culture of connecting and collaborating as it needs to cater for the MySpace and Facebook generation reared on online games
  • the potential of reality games for business training purposes for such things as collaborative problem solving
