BTOpenZone and The Cloud both offer a month subscription and have a wide number of WiFi hotspots around the UK but whenever I seem to need WiFi access these two services are never around which makes me reluctant to open a subscription account with them.
The current deals that Divine Wireless has brokered offers around 15,000 WiFi hotspots around the UK or 90% of open commercial hotspots.
Users of Divine Wireless will not have to pay a monthly subscription but will pay in a similar model to the no contract mobile phones. Payment will be taken from a pre-paid account, soon to be available from outlets of Carphone Warehouse, and will be charged at 8p per minute.
The company has bee setup by Guy Rosenhoiz who is an ex Chief Executive of O2 so the progression of deals struck, essential for this aggregated model, should hopefully continue its momentum after an impressive start of deals with The Cloud and BTOpenZone and rumoured deal with T-Mobile – these 3 deals mean that all MacDonalds, Starbucks and most Motorway Services should now be available via a single account.
